One Newport commission Morgan Signs for make-over of old train station into the “Information Station” - December 08, 2011
Newport Council has chosen Morgan Signs as the preferred sign and display supplier, to regenerate and brand the newly commissioned Information Station in the old Newport Station building. The project is an initiative launched by One Newport Local Service Board (LSB) with the purpose of offering a one-stop face to face customer service centre to the public.
The new Information Station, which will house a number of council and health board services, have opted for a series of colourful way finding signs, with various internal built-up letters in bright blue, pink and orange. They have also elected to fit some creative vinyl depicting images of trains and people in most of the building windows. The building can easily be identified by the illuminated orange and white letters on the main entrance fascia.
Sales Executive Daniel Jones, who has been handling the account, commented “It has been a challenging and fun engagement and it has been a pleasure to work with Newport Council on such a great project. It looks fantastic and the client is extremely pleased with the product so far.”
The Information Station is due to open fully in January 2012 and will be the new work place for around 300 employees from various customer service organisations.
