Follow the Flame Olympic Exhibition – Stand A re-development - March 08, 2013
Following the Flame celebrates the country's record of achievement in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The exhibition takes the visitor on a fascinating journey from the origins of the Olympic Games in Greece through to their demise more than eleven hundred years later, and into the important role of Britain in their re-establishment in Athens in 1896.
Morgan Signs worked closely with Cardiff City Council and Galliford Try to design, manufacture & install the bespoke sculptures. The five individual pods are coloured red, green, blue, yellow and black and are clad with graphics that show the history of the games and celebrate the participation of Welsh athletes over the years (graphics supplied by Celf Creative). The display also has a large ‘gate entrance’ structure in front of the entrance to stand B which provides an introduction to the exhibition. Additional graphics were applied to the windows of stand B showcasing Welsh Olympic and Paralympic athletes, these were printed to a one way vision material allowing clear vision from the inside of the stand. The sub-station was also clad with graphics to promote Cardiff as the European Capital of Sport in 2014.
